".....if I die tomorrow, I would be happy with my (recorded) legacy, give or take one or two, three or four.  I've made some albums that'll stand the test of time."
David Murray

David Murray has created one of his masterpieces, in the press CECMA Records, the stunning "The People's Choice" with "Chamber Jazz Quartet". Hugh Ragin plays the trumpet and flugelhorn, Fred Hopkins is on the contrabass, often played with a bow, and great Abdul Wadud on cello.

Marvelously!

If you find it, buy this album!

  3. Thank you Vitko. Haven't heard Murray for quite a while. Always nice to find another discovery. The CECMA Record label is absolute new to me. Very obscure, but always a pleasure to listen to one of your rips with music you don't find anywhere else.

  5. I though I had 1980s D. Murray pretty much covered, but I had never seen this one. Thanks Vitko!

  6. My LP of this got terribly warped a long time ago. Thanks for this convenient replacement, Vitko!

  7. thanks - am moving on in my tastes and am finding much, such as this, which is blowing me away. in my younger ignorance i dismissed "free" music almost completely as boring and often formulaic (some may be), but am hearing something utterly different when listening now and it is most pleasing. thanks vitko and commentors for the materials.
