On
12 October 1971 the music of this album was recorded at the Horst Jankowski
Studio in Stuttgart. At that time it was Joe Haider's greatest desire to make a
trio LP. Thanks to the producer and longtime friend Otto B. Hartmann this
musical portrait has been created.
In
the house named "Katzenvilla" Haider has lived for many years and
spent a beautiful and important time of his life. Each track of the album tells
a story that has to do with its human and musical development during this
important part of its life.
The
music was spontaneously recorded: Joe Haider's longtime friends, Isla Eckinger
(bass) and Pierre Favre (drums) were the ideal partners with their empathy and
their own great musicality to spontaneously capture the moods of these stories
and implement them in the trio in an impressive manner.
If
you find it, buy this album!

JOE HAIDER TRIO - CAFE DES PYRENNEES
It was posted there in September 2014, and the links are still active (but the link to the reissue in LP and CD format is not).
I have prepared JOE HAIDER - Reconciliation (LP from 1974) but I'm not sure if I can publish it, I did not browse the Internet. I do not know if he's almost back on CD. Do you have some information?
Delete-Otto-, all the best.
Found out that the reissue of Café des Pyrennées is still available (Amazon and others).
DeleteBut the 4 CD set (containing "Katzenvilla" and "Reconciliation") The EGO recordings of Joe Haider/Fritz Pauer/Horace Parlan seems to be oop, although jpc still lists this set for about € 60 with the caveat "soweit verfügbar beim Lieferanten" - I'm pretty sure the Lieferant (supplier) has been out of stock for quite a while.
OK, -Otto-. Thank you very much. Soon I'll set up the album.
DeleteGreat! Thanks Vitko.
ReplyDeleteVERY good record! Modern, with tunes. If you like McCoy Tyner's middle-period records, you'd enjoy this. There is a lot of piano on here. Thanks for posting.
